Hi,
I am Dr. Donita Lester. I am delighted to meet you! I am not sure how you discovered me, but thank you for beginning this journey. No matter what the response has been from your immediate friends, families, or inner critic, I believe you are making a good decision. Therapy is an inviting place where every single part of you is welcome, even the parts that are uncomfortable to share.
Allow me to introduce myself by sharing some of my experience and background. My aim is to provide a service with you in mind. You will be offered a service that is richly diverse and intellectual in its approach. My background is in the field of counseling and human services. As a therapist, I believe in allowing myself to utilize the most effective method of psychotherapy that is suitable to address the individual needs of each client. Simply put, I am eclectic in my approach to therapy. There is no one size fits all model. I am able to blend different approaches to help my clients accomplish their goals including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Person-Center Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), and Christian Counseling (if desired). Whether your need is clinical or spiritual, I can provide you with the guidance you need. My experience has consisted of running Intensive Outpatient Programs and Intensive Treatment Units with both men and women in a correctional setting. Additionally, I have worked with Private Agencies, Residential Treatment Services, Assessments and Referrals along with Crisis Therapy within a hospital. I also have experience in academia and teaching as an Adjunct Professor with Ivy Tech Community College in Chicago, IL, Trinity Christian College, and currently with Colorado Christian University.
My expertise consists of the following:

I joined Home Psych Services, P.C. and Generations Behavioral Healthcare, P.C. as an outpatient psychotherapist in 2021. You’ve taken the most difficult step in getting help which is admitting that you have a problem and starting to look for professional help. I promise to work tirelessly with you to help you achieve your goals and to walk with you together on your healing journey.
